Job description Apple is currently seeking exceptional Hardware Design Engineers to join a fast paced Apple portable computers design team in Shanghai China, and participate in the development of Apple's next generation portable computers. Responsibilities include:
-Design and development of Intel based portable computers and their sub-components from concept to mass production.
-Detailed hands-on development of the MLBs and/or peripheral boards of the system.
-Driving resolution of cross-functional issues including those related to architecture (performance, power consumption, thermal behavior), production (quality, failure analysis, manufacturing), and development (schematic design, PCB layout, and overall system integration). Domestic and International travel may be required.

BS/MS EE or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and development of high speed digital and/or analog boards and systems.
Must have a solid understanding of the system development process including concept creation, schematics and board design and development, as well as board and system bring up and debugging.
Must have direct experience with one or more of the following technologies: Intel-based computer systems, high speed bus design for low emissions, low power design, industry standard protocols (audio and video, Firewire, USB, Ethernet, DDR2, etc.) and their design issues.
Must have excellent communication skills.
Experience with portable computer design and/or Mac-OS a plus.
