The iPod/iPhone Engineering Division has a strong history of designing evolutionary consumer electronics that have touched millions and changed the way people listen to music. The iPhone is the next step in that evolutionary process.
The iPod/iPhone group is looking for Hardware Validation Engineer with a specialization in sensor technology. This person will be an individual contributor working with a top notch engineering team developing future iPod/iPhone products with responsibilities for the validation and test of sensor subsystems. Specific areas include ambient light sensors, proximity detectors, accelerometers and capacitive touch sensors, but many other areas will be explored.
Duties include subsystem design reviews, prototyping, schematic reviews, prototype bring up and debugging, hardware testing, generation of hardware bugs, working with cross-functional teams on debug/analysis/prove-out and also some manufacturing test support.
The applicant should be familiar with the design of portable low power products. Experience of a consumer electronics environment dealing with high volume and high quality products is an advantage, as is dealing with communications-specific problems such as RF-induced noise.
Required Experience:
* MSEE/PhD required.
* Must have excellent EE fundamentals.
* 5+ years overall experience needed
* Strong analog signal processing skills - pre-filtering, amplification, integration, etc
* Digital signal processing skills
* Broad experience: both digital and analog.
* Experience in prototyping both circuits and products in the lab.
* Experience in embedded sensors is a plus
