Be part of the future! We are staffing a major multi-site O&S maintenance and engineering program. These opportunities are available in CONUS and OCONUS locations. The ideal candidate will be familiar with both Windows and Unix operating systems. Knowledge and experience with Active Directory is a must. Daily tasks include performing system backups, reviewing system logs, reviewing and updating web content, troubleshooting web application problems and issues, supporting database and application developers, and designing web sites and applications. Supervises junior system administrators. Leads small teams of System Administrators managing servers running WINDOWS (NT, 95, 2000, 2003), Sun Solaris with Legacy, or HP UNIX operating systems for administrative applications. Performs installs of software, applications of patches, file systems, monitors performance and troubleshoots alerts from DoD, commercial, open source and locally developed monitoring tools.Performs system failure analysis and recovery; insures the consistency and integrity of file systems. Works with teams doing business continuity planning; hardware/software configuration; and management liaison with client offices, operations personnel, and field service personnel. Performs, under supervision, technical support and general troubleshooting. Supports servers in a 24x7 data center. Directs hardware and software migration and upgrade efforts of varying size and complexity. Uses system management tools, logical file systems, and client/server environments. Does hardware configuration. Performs shell programming. Upgrades, maintains and administers network appliance devices. Monitors and maintains storage services. Works on complex connections between SAN switches, storage devices and critical servers.
Required
Proficiency in one or more of the following: AIX, HP UNIX, MS DOS, WINDOWS (NT, 95, 2000, 2003), Red Hat Linux, SUN Solaris servers and workstations. Experience with SAN Switches, storage devices, servers. Network appliance devices.

11+ Years with HS or 7+ Years with AA or 5+ Years with BS or 2+ Years with MS or 0+ Years with PhD

Must be able to demonstrate high degree of accuracy and attentiveness to detail with little rework.
Must have excellent customer service skills, particularly in the area of customer relations, communications and responsiveness.
Must be able to work as a team member in support of special projects
Must be able to demonstrate a reasonable level of writing ability to assist with development of procedures and documentation
