Work under the general direction of the Director Material Supply Operations - USCS, with responsibility to oversee the operations of all USCS Material Operations (internal sites and third party sites). Responsibilities of this position include (but not limited to) ensuring that each site has common processes and standard methods to ensure material inventory accuracy, fidelity, and availability to meet Customer commitments by directing the functions of Production/Development Operations Materials Planning, Control and Management, Production/Development Operations Scheduling, and Supply Chain (Internal and External) Expediting, Management and Control. Lead regular performance management review session - developing corrective action plans that address Production/Development Operations performance shortfalls. Key Performance Indicators are: achieve performance objectives by ensuring superior material availability to support for program schedules, supporting operations productivity, quality, safety/housekeeping, employee relations, labor/overhead/G & A budgets, return on assets, and profitability.

Materials Managers from all USCS Production and Development operations will report to this position.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Develop, manage, and evaluate the functions necessary to maintain a material system ensuring compliance with government and GSD specifications for materials.
2.Develop and manage procedures and activities to secure accuracy and integrity in the accountability of government and GSD material; ensure the maintenance of records and data essential to material programs including MRP.
3.Manage the planning and scheduling activities, utilizing MRP, to determine time and/or quantity requirements for materials.
4.Manage the production planning and scheduling process to optimize customer service, product flow, and resource utilization, while minimizing material handling, and other support related, indirect costs.
5.Analyze current systems, procedures, and practices to determine methods to improve cost containment and material availability; implement changes and modifications.
6.Direct the planning and implementation of performance measurement systems and implements corrective action programs to correct unacceptable conditions.
7.Direct the coordination and integration of material requirements from contract planning and engineering design bills of material for production to delivery of the product.
8.Manage the flow of product between Ground Systems manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and third part suppliers and logistic center. Analyze systems and process; direct development and implementation of improvements for the purpose of reducing cycle time, increasing customer service, and reducing cost.
9.Supervise, train, and evaluate approximately 6 to 8 warehouse operations manager (either on a direct or dotted line relationship) who in turn supervise up to 150 material salaried and shop employees on a multi shift basis; initiates personnel actions; ensures compliance with GSD and departmental policies and procedures, labor agreement provisions, and OSHA regulations.
10.Contact within GSD frequently with individuals in administrative/managerial positions in coordination of material activities; contacts with government representatives requiring tact and judgment.
11.Probable errors in recommendations or decisions may cause serious delays in operations.
12.Provide leadership for the shared responsibility of employee development.
13.Ensure that the employees and the work environment are compliant with BAE SYSTEMS safety policies.
14.Perform other duties as necessary and appropriate to this position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
1.BS in Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent education.
2.A minimum of 5 years' experience in progressively responsible positions in materials including a minimum of 2 years' management/supervisory experience.
3.Knowledge of MRP, process engineering functions, and computer systems required; CPM knowledge of the materials functions, DoD military specifications, and manufacturing management experience desirable. APICS Certification desirable.
4.High mental/visual application required to manage complex material schedules and procedures.
