As a key member of the U.S. Army's Future Combat Systems (FCS) Team, BAE Systems is responsible for five of the eight manned variants and for major elements of the common platform design. These critical weapons will be the first in a new line of combat vehicles and systems that will empower soldiers through unmatched firepower, situational awareness and survivability.
Technology developments in composite materials, hybrid electric power systems, active protective suites, integrated vehicle survivability, reactive and passive armor kits, crew station design, training systems, unmanned ground vehicle capabilities and other features position the organization at the forefront for future ground combat system developments.
Ground Systems is certified to ISO 9001 standards and the highest level (Level 5) on the Capability Maturity Model - Integrated (CMM-I) for systems and software engineering.
Provides cross-program leadership over the management of thermal architectures, their optimization and their requirements on product development of combat vehicle or similar systems of high complexity. Must be accomplished in the selection and application of technologies related to environmental management (cooling and heating) of propulsion, electronics, personnel and other subsystems. Must be a recognized leader in cross-team coordination to deliver requirements and high-level designs, influence design implementations and measure results to achieve environmental conditioning goals. Must be an influential presence within customer and industrial communities on the subject of thermal management. Must understand the application of requirements analysis, technology alternatives and trade studies to achieve optimal system design selections.
