As a key member of the U.S. Army's Future Combat Systems (FCS) Team, BAE Systems is responsible for five of the eight manned variants and for major elements of the common platform design. GENERAL SUMMARY:
Works under the general direction of the BAE Systems Field Support Manager at U.S., and foreign military installations to conduct and supervise subordinate Field Support Representatives, performing de-processing, maintenance, repair, installation of MOD KITs, providing maintenance instruction, making warranty decisions, and providing test support to all the company?S manufactured equipment /vehicles to include equipment manufactured by other company divisions as required.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides technical guidance to company personnel on installation and maintenance procedures; may provide technical assistance on prototype vehicles.
2. Performs, directs/supervises tests and trial installations as requested by Project Engineer(s).
3. Prepares vehicles for use once they have arrived at shipping destinations; ensures vehicles are at peak operating condition.
4. Provides technical guidance and training to peers, subordinate, and customer personnel in all aspects of BAE Systems vehicle support.
5. Provides technical guidance and training for customer mechanics and operators.
6. Successfully diagnoses maintenance problems referred by customers, technicians, and subordinate FSRs and makes repair recommendations and modifications as required.
7. Uses test, diagnostic, materials handling, and normal office equipment.
8. Prepares field service reports in company format.
9. While on assignment, U.S. and foreign, and required to move from location to location will be required to establish own travel and living arrangements in order to meet pre-arranged schedules and/or emergency assignment situations.
10. Contacts include customer technicians, engineers, and supervisors at U.S. government and foreign locations.
11. Identify probable errors which may delay solutions to customer performance and maintenance problems.
12. Share the responsibility of self-development with immediate supervisor.
13. Comply with company safety policies and maintain a safe work environment.
14. Performs other duties as necessary and appropriate to this position.
1. High school diploma or equivalent education.
2. A minimum of three years experience as an FSR supporting the entire Bradley Fighting Vehicle product line, including three years of fault isolation experience with digital electronics, software reprogramming, and command and control systems.
3. Must have experience with field support, maintenance and repair of the Bradley Fighting Vehicles and Derivatives (Legacy models to A3 CMED Block 1).
4. Analytical ability sufficient to independently isolate mechanical, electrical, and software failures that can occur with any of the company's vehicles.
5. Close mental/visual application required to follow detailed, step-by-step diagnosis procedures.
6. Technical ability to influence design changes, program strategy, schedules, and budgets.
7. Computer literacy and knowledge of MS Office software (Word, Excel) is required.
