The Project Manager for Response and Recovery will be responsible to assist in the development, expansion and growth of assigned projects in accordance with the National Preparedness and Response Solutions Business plan. In meeting these responsibilities, the Project Manager will place primary emphasis on understanding, interpreting and advocating customer needs and requirements to ensure thusly developed products and services actually meet the needs of customers at the Federal, State and local level, and among Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and the private sector. As such, the Project Manager will be attentive to all aspects of customer satisfaction and project performance against defined business and performance parameters.
Plan, organize, coordinate, integrate and direct projects as assigned within the National Preparedness and Response Business area. The initial assignment of the Project Manager will be the final development and fielding of the FEMA Decision Support Service. In this role, the Project Manager will lead a matrix team comprised of full and part-time staff assigned from across the company as necessary to accomplish team objectives. This and other similar projects will require project leadership skills, subject matter expertise and an ability to coordinate across support lines within BAE and supporting partners. Ensure achievement of financial, schedule, technical and new business performance objectives, with a particular additional focus of building a solid customer relationship while seeking opportunities to extend this service to a broader range of customers.
As a Project Manager for National Preparedness and Response Solutions, interact with, contribute to and support all other business elements within National Preparedness and Response Solutions to create, deliver, support and sustain integrated and coordinated products and services. As one with primary responsibility for customer interface, the Project Manager will travel to the customer site, attend conferences and observe operational events as necessary and beneficial to be informed and effective in meeting position responsibilities and business objectives.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Contribute throughout the initial stages of project plan development by providing insight into customer needs and requirements, and actively injecting subject matter expertise in the development of programs, products and services targeted to address customer requirements.
2. Initiate, plan, organize, manage and direct the development, change and close out of assigned programs in accordance with the Companies Integrated Project Management Process.
3. Assist in developing and establishing procedures and guidelines for daily conduct of business in support of assigned projects; execute and revise project plans as needed.
4. Support the Vice President, National Preparedness and Response Solutions, to refine and implement the enterprises strategy, build and execute specific elements of the business plan, identify gaps, and execute the appropriate make, buy and partner decision process to fill the gaps.
5. Coordinate with and support the Director, Business Development, National Preparedness and Response Solutions, to refine and implement the Business Development plan, including supporting proposal and selling? activity.
6. Coordinate with and support the Technical Director, National Preparedness and Response Solutions, to develop and refine technical solution architecture and development, such that it aligns with customer and program needs, and the strategy.
7. Develop and maintain meaningful customer relationships at the Federal, State and local levels that lead to trusted partner? status with customers to facilitate the success and growth of the National Preparedness and Response, Solutions strategic market area. Ensure the coordination of work tasks with customer representatives. Ensure customers are informed on status and progress of assigned projects. Coordinate project reviews and directs the preparation of status and progress reports as directed in the Lifecycle Management Guidelines, the North American charter for Program Management, and the Operational Framework.
8. Coordinate as needed, performance of projects with external suppliers and partners, as well as Products Group, Detica and other relevant Operating Groups within BAE.
