Sr. Release Manager Job in Mclean, VA 22109

Position requires planning, management and reporting status on web software development projects delivering new releases/capability and operations and maintenance releases.
Successful candidates will work with the lead release manager and project leads to:
a) Define the release work plan, schedule, tasks, resources, and milestone dates for all phases of work;
b) Define the content/functionality/requirements to be deployed in the release;
c) Manage and report high-level (milestone-level) status showing progress along the release schedule; and
d) Assist in identifying and driving issues to resolution; and ensure releases are progressing on schedule in compliance with appropriate control gates.
Successful candidates must have good organization and communication skills and be able to define and manage to project plans; identify appropriate project milestones throughout all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC); facilitate planning, status and issues meetings with team leads to develop project shedules, define tasks, track status and resolve issues; lead milestone reviews/ events; and interface with clients, stakeholders, executives, and leads to drive the release through to completion; identify and mitigate risks; coordinate contract deliverable reviews and delivery; and gather lessons learned.
