Sr. Application Technical Support and Business Analyst
Job Summary:
The Sr. Application Technical Support and Business Analyst’s job is to support the day to day operation of the Visiprise system architecture. The position ensures a stable system by performing the following duties:
• Responding to help desk tickets or system generated errors messages
• Resolving the ticket or escalating as needed
• Coordinating issue resolution between users and outside vendors
• Testing and applying system upgrades
• Maintaining support documentation
• Modifying application settings
The position may require working second shift or weekends. The supported system primarily runs in a MS Windows Server environment, with connections to IBM Mainframe and SAP systems.
Responsibilities include by not limited to:
• Providing initial application support to a user community
• Acting as the initial *first responder* to any technical application or system errors that occur
• Troubleshooting through resolution of issues related to configuration, testing, releases, installations, and monitoring of mission critical applications to include performing system and network troubleshooting and resource optimization
• Escalating unresolved issues quickly and effectively to the second tier technical team for resolution; and the respective back end systems
• Act as a liaison when issues require Business decisions to fix a process or define a new enhancement.
• Act as a tester for unit testing to verify any changes in the Visiprise software or configuration.
• Assist with writing any Business Requirements, Functional Specs, Technical Specs and Test Cases to support bug fixes or enhancements.
• Modify application settings and system validation tables within or out of the Visiprise application
• Act as a liaison when issues require Business decisions to fix a process or define a new enhancement.
Experience:
The job requires experience in the following areas:
• Supporting enterprise applications
• Deploying and supporting enterprise applications
• Understanding of client/server based applications and basic networking technologies
• Working knowledge of relational database systems with ability to run basic SQL commands
• Working knowledge of windows server administration
• Working knowledge of source code control systems.
• Understanding of how Data in Visiprise flows between operations, internal modules and external systems.
• Training in Visiprise interfaces and configuration to troubleshot issues that are outside the normal transactional flow.
Preferred: Experience working with Citrix, Oracle, Windows Server 2003, Subversion.
Optional but a plus: Experience as user executing jobs on a mainframe system or VB/C# .Net
Education: Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent degree plan; or equivalent work experience is required.
Experience: At least 5-7 years work experience as a technical support personal, windows system administrator, or software release manager
