Job Description ExxonMobil is seeking qualified and experienced candidates to conduct research, development, and equipment design and evaluation in the area of heat transfer and fractionation / separation technology. This individual will also serve as an internal consultant to ExxonMobil Upstream affiliates and will be based in Houston with some domestic and international travel.

Skills and Experience:
* B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. Degree in Chemical Engineering or related disciplines such as Chemistry, Physics, or Mechanical Engineering
* Relevant industry research and technology development experience, including design and field troubleshooting of high performance heat transfer and fractionation / separation equipment
* Deep knowledge of heat transfer and fractionation internals, hydraulics and efficiency
* Solid technical, analytical, and applied research skills
* Strong communication, customer orientation, self-initiative, and teamwork capabilities
* Demonstrated ability to develop and implement new technology and processes to enhance heat transfer and distillation in oil and gas production operations
* General understanding of fluid flow, thermodynamics, and heat/mass transfer
* Experience with process simulation and HTRI Xchanger Suite software
* Compact separation experience desirable
Typical Job Responsibilities:

* Research, development, and design of heat transfer, fractionation, and separation processes and equipment
* Global support of affiliates with specialized heat transfer, fractionation, and gas/liquid separator designs or troubleshooting
* Planning, stewardship, and technical oversight of internal and joint industry research programs
* Representing ExxonMobil interests in joint ventures
* Providing training to affiliates
* Effectively work with contractors, vendors, and operators
