Title: Web Developer
Location: Alexandria, VA
SYColeman is seeking a creative Web Developer, with strong backgrounds in code and experience in developing web sites using web standards, to work in Baghdad, Iraq. The ideal candidates will be capable of producing a web project through all stages of development but focused mainly on the backend architecture. Candidate should be proficient in writing structured PHP code, normalizing databases, working with XML. Javascript and the DOM, information architecture, hand-coding CSS and HTML and performing any one of these functions as a part of a larger team. Knowledge of industry trends and the desire to produce clean and efficient code is essential. Candidate should demonstrate their capabilities by submitting samples of past work.
Required Experience/Skills: Minimum 1 year experience working on web applications; Professional degree in computer science, media arts and design, or related field. Proficient in Mac Environment; intermediate to advanced PHP skills; intermediate to advanced experience with MySQL; intermediate to advanced Javascript/DOM scripting; experience with the Apache web server; understanding/Experience with a software framework (MVC); CSS; XHTML; web standards.
Experience/Skills Desired: While not required, these additional skills are beneficial to have: experience with any of the following: Cake PHP, Ruby on Rails, Code Igniter, Prototype/Scriptaculous, Python, Wiki development, creating content in Adobe Flash, coding Actionscript.
Must be legally qualified to work in the United States and be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance.
