We are currently seeking the following in our Aiken, SC office.
Position Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include analytical work to support the development of models to demonstrate safe operations of various MOX facility aqueous process (PUREX) processes. The majority of the work will focus on the investigation of chemical reaction kinetics associated with the Aqueous Polishing process. Organic/Actinide Chemist (advanced degree is required) with experience in the following:Analytical and experimental techniques to determine reaction kinetics.Solvent extraction processes involving radionuclides. Red oil and HAN reactions. Responsibilities include planning and execution of Chemical Safety tasks and planning, organizing and coordinating activities to support the MOX project licensing, integrated safety analysis, engineering, and operations.
Required Qualifications:
MS/PhD degree in Radiochemistry or Chemical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience with chemical safety analysis.Experience with chemical processes and systems.Experience preparing and reviewing technical documents and procedures.
Desired Qualifications:
Technical Experience related to the commercial, nuclear process industryExperience with heat transfer phenomenaChemist / Understanding chemical phenomena and reaction
