Posting Job Description PURPOSE:
Designs and sells commercial burglary, fire and CCTV, access control, maintenance and monitoring in accordance with national and local codes to potential subscribers. Sells upgrade services to existing subscribers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Makes sales and cold calls in person to businesses located in and surrounding the franchise areas throughout the division.
? Answers general information inquiries for customers related to pricing, services, billing and installations.
? Interacts with technical personnel to ensure accurate design and installation.
? Follows up with subscribers to ensure system training/demonstration.
? Interacts with and gains design approvals with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
? Follows up on leads in a timely manner.
? Processes paperwork, including work orders and weekly sales activity reports.
? Meets predetermined sales goals by following company outlined activity schedule.
? Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and Saturdays.
? Must maintain a polished and professional attitude at all times.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
? This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
? Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs.
? Knowledge of national and local regulations regarding security alarm systems.
? Knowledge of the Syracuse and Central New York area.
? Ability to read a street map.
? Must have valid NYS drivers license and safe driving record.
? Must be able to provide proof of $25,000 vehicle liability insurance.
EDUCATION:
? High School Diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE:
? One to three years related experience and/or training.
? Experience in consultative sales techniques and account planning including development, service account positioning strategy, customer needs analysis, sales opportunity development, service improvement planning and long range account management strategies.
MENTAL DEMANDS:
? Ability to express oneself in a clear, concise and organized manner both verbally and in writing.
? Ability to think through a problem, analyze and break it down into parts to resolve or come up with a logical solution.
? Ability to exercise good judgment, keeping in mind company policies and procedures as guidelines.
? Ability to deal with irate or difficult customers and/or potential customers.
? Basic math skills, including decimals, fractions and percentages.
? Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
