Job Description

 
Ideal candidate will have a BS degree in engineering or an applicable science with a proven record of effective project management in the field of water resources. An MS degree and PE registration is preferred. Coastal engineering experience is preferred.

Responsibilities will include:
• Task and project management related to hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, analysis and design
• Conduct floodplain and stormwater studies and analysis
• Assist in the development of plans, designs, cost estimates and specifications
• Manage work load and direct junior staff on projects related to hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, analysis, and design
• Manage and perform QA/QC of data developed to support projects
• Utilize computer applications to develop solutions to engineering problems
• Compile and present findings and results of studies and analyses
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines
• Public speaking and presentations
• Client development/marketing
• Proposal writing
• Work in a production-oriented environment

Travel and field work required needed to support

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
The successful applicant must have at least 10 years experience, as follows:
• Knowledge of and experience with FEMA and USACE floodplain management regulations and procedures;
• Experience with FEMA’s Map Modernization and/or North Carolina Floodplain Mapping Programs;
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills;
• Municipal and federal stormwater master planning;
• Surface water modeling with HEC-1, HEC-2, HEC-RAS, SWMM, and GIS experience;
• Must exhibit strong project management and leadership skills
